NR-1
Price: 5.5" 7" $400
The NR-1 is a compact rimfire suppressor engineered for shooters who value light weight and reliable performance. Built from 7075 hardcoat anodized aluminum and weighing just 3.2 ounces, it adds virtually no forward weight while maintaining excellent durability.
Its design includes a set of gain-twist style flutes—an uncommon feature in suppressor manufacturing when this model was developed. These flutes provide both structural efficiency and a distinctive appearance.
The model name, NR-1, is drawn from a small Navy research submarine known for its specialized missions and tight-knit crew. The characteristics of that vessel—compact, efficient, and purpose-built—capture the spirit of this suppressor.
The NR-1 is compatible with all rimfire calibers, though it excels with .22 LR and .17 HMR. Dimensions are 1 inch in diameter and 5.5 inches in length, and it mounts on any 1/2-28 threaded rifle.
Building Materials
The materials I use are not just selected—they’re carefully considered based on years of experience in the field. My goal is to provide you with a suppressor that’s not only affordable but also built to withstand whatever you throw at it. Here’s why I chose each one.
Titanium
Titanium provides the strength needed in the suppressor’s tube while keeping it light. This balance is crucial for maintaining maneuverability without sacrificing durability. Titanium’s resistance to corrosion ensures that your suppressor remains in top condition for years.
Carbon Steel
Carbon steel is a practical choice for the baffles and end caps because it’s resilient and cost-effective. The parkerized finish is more than just a coating—it’s a tough layer that bonds to the steel, protecting it through countless rounds and adverse weather conditions.
Parkerized Aluminum
Incorporating aluminum into the baffle system allows me to reduce weight while maintaining the suppressor’s overall integrity. This material choice is all about making the suppressor more manageable without compromising on the effectiveness of sound suppression.
Frequently Asked Questions
Depends on your definition of painful, but most of my customers are pleasantly surprised at how easy of a process this is. It is about a 10-15 minute process to go through. It is very similar to buying a gun, I just take a passport-style photo of you, and get your fingerprints, and thankfully now, you no longer have to pay a $200 tax! It is now FREE! Then after it is sent off, you wait a few days for the ATF to approve it. The difference in purchasing an NFA item and a regular firearm is that an NFA item is a federally registered item.
NOPE! Since January 1st of 2026 there is no longer a tax on Silencers (Suppressors), Short barreled rifles, and Short barreled shotguns, and AOW (Any other weapon). The tax does still exist for machine guns and destructive devices. This change is essentially the largest reversal of gun control in American history.
In Louisiana (That is where I am licensed to sell them) there is no state law that says anything about maintaining your paperwork with your suppressor, or any other NFA item for that matter. Federally, the only thing you are required to do is to “provide it to an ATF officer upon request”. It does not say anything about having to have it with you at all times. That being said, I tell a lot of people to keep a copy of it on your phone or possibly even in your vehicle just in case. You are not required to show it to any law enforcement officer if they just ask (unless it’s an ATF agent). However, if it would make your life easier, it may be worth having on hand.
I couldn’t agree more. I hate it as much or more than anyone. Although it is wrong, this is why you should; The more people that own these suppressors, the more commonplace in everyday life they become. The more common they become, the more educated everyone is. It isn’t like the movies, suppressors are just simply a noise reduction device, they do not completely silence anything. In my opinion, the best shot we have at getting suppressors off the NFA list is for as many people to own them as possible. Think about it, it wasn’t really that long ago that most states didn’t allow concealed carry, now basically all of them do. The fact that the $200 tax has been removed (which has been around since 1934) is a perfect example of this. Enough people bought them that laws began to change. If we keep doing this, I have full confidence in my lifetime we will see them completely deregulated.
Yes. There is no legal requirement for you to keep a suppressor on any one particular gun (except in the case of one that is pinned and welded to the barrel). You can swap the suppressor from gun to gun as long as the cartridge you are shooting through it is rated for the suppressor, and as long as you are shooting the same caliber as the suppressor is, or smaller. For example, you can shoot a .22 hornet through my 30 caliber suppressors, but you cannot shoot a 9mm luger through a .30 caliber suppressor, as 9mm is larger.
You will have to have a threaded barrel to use my suppressors. If you do not have a threaded barrel, then you will have to either have your barrel threaded, or you get a new barrel for your gun that is threaded. I do offer barrel threading as a common gunsmithing service.
The easiest way is to either contact the manufacturer or have a machinist tell you. Most gunsmiths should be able to tell you, but in many cases gunsmiths are not nearly as knowledgeable as machinists. If you either send it to me or bring it to my shop, I can identify your barrel threads for you.
Part of the process of purchasing a suppressor is how you get the tax stamp. When you choose to purchase a suppressor, you fill out an electronic form 4. When the form 4 gets approved, there will be a U.S. Treasury stamp on the top right corner of the form. That is all the “tax stamp” is. As of January 1st 2026 they are $0 for suppressors. When someone says “you need to get a tax stamp to buy one”, all you need to do is come to my shop or go to your local dealer, and they will walk you through the process.
As long as suppressors are legal in your state, you can still purchase a suppressor from me. The difference is I cannot do the paperwork directly for you to purchase one. I will have to transfer the item to a local dealer in your state, and then they will take care of transferring the item to you. Be advised, not all dealers can deal NFA items, so be sure to ask about that first. Also, be sure to ask about their transfer fee for NFA items and shop around. Many dealers tend to charge a lot more for NFA transfers than they do for regular guns.
Great question! Sometimes the market convinces people of things that are just simply unnecessary. For the most part barrels have a few standard threads they use, the vast majority being 1/2-28 and 5/8-24. I am not a believer of taking advantage of a customer for the purposes of selling more products. Therefore, my standard means of attaching my suppressors to firearms is the simplest and best method of threading them directly onto the barrel. Larger manufacturers have convinced a large population of the market you must buy a hub device and another muzzle attachment for anywhere from $100-$200 a piece just to thread your suppressor onto your gun when in fact you already have threads on your barrel, which is all you need. True quick detach mounts I can get behind, but buying a muzzle brake or flash hider just to thread your suppressor onto that is only adding more weight to your firearm and reducing volume in your suppressor (which is the largest factor of how much sound they will suppress).
No you do not. You can purchase one just as individual. In fact, most of my customers buy them as individual instead of using a trust. That being said, there are advantages of a trust. The biggest reason is that with a trust you can add others onto your trust and then they can possess it just like you. I sell trusts for $150. Without a trust, technically you are the only one that can possess it. That being said, it is kind of a grey area at times. Many people think you need a trust to pass one on after you are deceased, that is not true however. Anyone who is either named in your will, or if you do not have a will by state law would get custody of your items, can do what is called a form 5 and get the suppressor.
